Learning to LOVE 'low' season in Pattaya
In the past, I've never been a particular fan of 'low' season in Pattaya--which runs roughly 1 April to 31 October.
To me, it means the onset of high temperatures and oppressive humidity. The sun is also seemingly more bright and
intense.
Many days I plan my schedule simply to AVOID being outside. Better to enjoy the sanctuary of my abode than becoming drenched
whether by the sultriness or later afternoon showers.
But, I've learned the virtues of the season.
Here's a few of them:
1) Walking is a pleasure.
During high season, although the temperatures are usually mild, but the crowds ARE thick!. Walking along Beach Road in the
evening can be nearly impossible.
Low season is just the opposite. Strolling in the 'cooler' evenings is a pleasure.
2) Eating and drinking is more comfortable.
Nothing is more aggravating then contending for a place to sit in a bar or restaurant. Unfortunately too many times, I've been
forced to sit next to a BLASTING stereo speaker because all the seats were full.
3) Reduced prices at many establishments.
Bars, restaurants, hotels, golf courses, so on typically offer 'specials' during low season.
A treat for 'cheap charlies'!
Conclusion:
Whether visiting or living here, 'low season' is the IDEAL season in many ways.
